The Couch That Sounds Like a Theater: The Lovesac StealthTech Demo

Here’s the story behind Smart Post Sound’s creative partnership with Lovesac on their StealthTech Sound + Charge demo video – and why we’re just as proud of the collaboration as we are of the craftsmanship that went into bringing this experience to life.

Bringing StealthTech to Life Through Sound
It all started when Mark Harvey, Manager, StealthTech Engineering, CX and Service at Lovesac, reached out to our team. He needed help designing the showroom demo that would showcase the StealthTech experience. From day one, it was product engineering and audio post working together with one creative goal: to craft a consistent Dolby 5.1 demo (powered by Harman Kardon) that would authentically highlight the immersive audio experience of the StealthTech-enabled Sactional couch system.
No visible speakers. No blinking light shows. Just a seamless, true-to-life audio experience that customers could easily imagine in their own homes.
From Demo Design to Final Mix
Our role was to take Lovesac’s creative vision – anchored by Founder and CEO Shawn Nelson’s dialogue and narration – and ensure the sound design, backgrounds, effects, and mix matched the premium, cinematic experience that StealthTech delivers. We developed a fast, reliable, and repeatable workflow (design > edit > mix > QC > deliver) that kept changes moving quickly and consistently throughout the process.
To simulate the real-world showroom environment, we built a retail-style testing setup. This included open ceilings, varying acoustics, and even the occasional recliner test nearby. The goal was to make sure the demo sounded incredible everywhere – from New York to Seattle to Miami.
Seamless Collaboration

Throughout the project, Shawn, Mark, and the Lovesac team – Jane Levine (Brand Director, StealthTech), Sabrina Baviello (Creative Director), and Neil Jackson (Senior Copywriter) – provided clear creative direction and feedback. Together, we ensured the demo showcased what Lovesac’s StealthTech system can do without resorting to technical gimmicks.
As Shawn says in the demo: ”Don’t just hear it ~ feel it.”
Overcoming Technical Challenges

Working with Mark and the Lovesac team, we refined the playback > notes > fixes chain. This allowed the demos to stream and play back directly through the StealthTech Sactionals. We selected the proper video codecs and containers that would be streamed in-store. Additionally, we encoded metadata and conducted QC/stress-testing on those files to maintain the presentation as close to theater quality as possible.
One Demo, Over 300 Places

Once finalized, the Lovesac StealthTech demo rolled out to more than 300 touchpoints – showrooms, Costco Roadshows, and other outlets. All locations received the same mix. Proper Dolby 5.1 surround sound, detailed deployment instructions (from Mark himself), in-store verification steps, and a focused file-delivery method kept the rollout smooth.
The mix you hear in an Austin showroom is the same mix you hear in a Seattle or Miami store. Even if someone temporarily moves a plant in the middle of the space, it still sounds great.
What You'll Hear

Led by Shawn's dialogue and narration, the demo walks listeners through the real-world benefits of StealthTech. This includes clear dialogue that you won't have to chase with a remote, solid bass you can feel, and an immersive surround experience across everyday viewing moments – from movie nights and TV shows to gaming and sports.
We’re proud that our sound work helped bring those experiences to life – supporting Lovesac’s mission to deliver “Enhanced Living, Built to Last.”
We’ve even had our own sound packages showcased with the product – NCIS, Reacher, Tulsa King, and Abandons. We can attest the sound stays true to its original intent. Imaging remains clear, dynamics hold their balance, and the low end sits right where it should. The world of sound wraps around you unlike anything you've experienced before.
One listen is all it takes.
